Sarah Abbott MW is an internationally respected wine communicator, strategist and advocate for fine wine culture, with nearly three decades of experience spanning sales, marketing, education and collective brand development. A Master of Wine since 2008, she began her career immersed in the classical canon — Burgundy, Bordeaux and Piedmont — developing a rigorous tasting framework and a deep understanding of the generations of cultural and commercial effort underpinning the world’s most revered regions.

As founder of Swirl Wine Group, Sarah has built a reputation for shaping narratives and strategies that fuse heritage with relevance. Her work explores how the definition of fine wine is evolving, championing resurgent and emerging terroirs whose quality, distinctiveness and cultural depth merit recognition alongside established benchmarks.

Sarah is also co-founder of The Old Vine Conference, a global platform dedicated to safeguarding heritage vineyards as sources of genetic diversity, cultural continuity and resilience.

She encourages Masters of Wine and other leading professionals to complete the Golden Vines survey, contributing their collective expertise in support of the foundations’ strategy and impact.
