The Experience
VIP tour with René Barbier, visiting our vineyards, the cellar and finally tasting our four wines D.O. Ca. Priorat (Clos Mogador, Manyetes, Nelin and Rosat Vi de Vila) plus some older/rare vintages.
The Estate
Clos Mogador is the consequence of many generations. It all started in France in the 19th. century with Leon Barbier, and later on he moved to Catalonia, where his son, and grandson carried on with the family business named after them; and finally René Barbier III, discovered the Priorat in the 70’s and started his own project, Clos Mogador. The first vintage was 1989, and since then the winery has grown to become a well known brand all over the world, which is now run by his two sons: René (wine maker) and Christian (responsible for the vineyard). The Barbier family are obsessed with the terroir and they all live alongside their vineyards. Their wines are a reflection of the Priorat terroir, and their philosophy is to apply minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
