The Estate
Domaine Jean-Yves Bizot makes very small quantities of wine to highly exacting and individualistic standards, and with minimal intervention at every stage of the process. Its small vineyard holdings (around 3.5 hectares) are principally in Vosne-Romanée and Echezeaux, though it also produces other wines both red and white. Very unusually, Bizot bottles barrels individually, with no blending. All the farming is organic, and no sulphur is used during vinification. When he is not working at the domaine, Bizot is a professor of viniculture and oenology in Beaune.
