The Experience
VIP Wine Experience: Bibi Graetz is glad to host up to 6 guests for a VIP visit and fine wine lunch in the new winery in Fiesole. An insight to the Bibi Graetz history and winemaking, the guests will visit the historical Hotel from the XIX century returned to shine as the new house of the iconic wines Colore and Testamatta. An opportunity to discover Bibi Graetz 'passion for old vines and local grapes, going over the winery’s evolution with a tasting of the flagship - Testamatta, jewel in the crown - Colore, and three special gems - Balocchi di Colore. The visit will end with a traditional Tuscan lunch in the suggestive tasting room overlooking the Florence’s Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore. You will lose yourself in the Bibi Graetz anecdotes and in his wines.
The Estate
The Bibi Graetz winery was founded in 2000 on the hill of Fiesole, overlooking Florence, where Bibi, who grew up in a family of artists, fell completely in love with wine and made it his life. Bibi studied art at “Accademia delle Belle Arti” in Florence and through his studies he decided to take on the family estate in Vincigliata where he started to produce wine.
In two decades since his first vintage release, Bibi Graetz has become one of the brightest lights in Tuscan winemaking. This is primarily thanks to the superb quality of his pure-Sangiovese Testamatta and Colore. Graetz draws on old vines, which give his best reds depth and soul. Red grapes are cultivated on the hillsides above Florence and sourced from prime sites in the Chianti Classico region, such as Montefili and Lamole. His whites from the island of Giglio are also an inspiration, proving that Tuscany can make great white wine, as well as red.
