The Estate / Distillery
Château de Ferrand Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé is a 42-hectare located on the plateau of the Saint-Émilion appellation.
In its 300-year history, the château has been in the hands of only two families. It is one of the oldest properties in Saint-Émilion, having been founded in the 18th century by Elie de Bétoulaud and held by its descendants for over two centuries. In 1978, Château de Ferrand was acquired by Baron Bich, a visionary industrialist, founder of the BIC company and game changer for the America’s Cup. Today his daughter Pauline manages the estate alongside her husband, Philippe Chandon-Moët.
The energy at the estate is palpable - a result of the team's dedication to producing fine wines. The quality of the wines has risen dramatically in recent years; a result of both serious investment and innovative strategies implemented by Pauline and Philippe. Committed to the preservation of its unique ecosystem, Château de Ferrand is now certified organic.
The property is also lauded for the excellence of its oenotourism program and private BIC Art collection.
