The Estate / Distillery
Château Palmer, located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. It was named after British Major General Charles Palmer, who purchased the estate in 1814 and expanded its vineyards, aiming to create a prestigious wine. Under his ownership, the estate gained prominence, although Palmer eventually faced financial difficulties and had to sell the property in the mid-19th century. In 1853, the estate was acquired by the Pereire banking family, who invested in modernising the winery. Château Palmer's reputation continued to grow, and despite being classified as a Third Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, it is often regarded as one of the finest wines in the region. Today, the estate is known for its dedication to biodynamic farming and producing elegant, age-worthy wines.
