FAMILIA TORRES, FIVE GENERATIONS DEDICATED TO WINE-MAKING AND VINE-GROWING
With roots in the Penedès winegrowing tradition going back to the 16th century, Familia Torres founded its winery in Vilafranca del Penedès over 150 years ago, in 1870. Each generation has passed down from parents to children the passion for wine culture based on respect for the land and tradition and commitment to innova-tion. Today, the fifth generation is focused on producing wines from unique vineyards and historical estates, recovering ancestral varieties and regenerative viticulture to adapt to climate change. The fight against the climate emergency has been one of its lines of action since 2008, through adaptation and mitigation actions to reduce CO2 emissions. With a historical presence in the Penedès region, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, and Costers del Segre, Familia Torres also has vineyards and wineries in the main Spani-sh wine regions (Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, and Rías Baixas), as well as in Chile and California. The winery has been named six times the World’s Most Admi-red Wine Brand by Drinks International.It is a member of Primum Familiae Vini, an association comprising 12 of Europe’s most prestigious centuries-old winemaking families, and it is a co-founder of both the International Wineries for Climate Action and the Association of Regenerative Viticulture to tackle climate change.
