The Estate
Rare Champagne’s noble origins date back to May 6, 1785, when Florens-Louis Heidsieck met Queen Marie Antoinette for the first time: “I wanted a cuvée worthy of a queen!” He wrote. The legend was born 200 years later with the unveiling of the very first Rare Champagne vintage, Rare Millésime 1976, presented at the Château de Versailles, in 1985.
Over the past 40 years, Rare Champagne has only released 14 vintages, all in limited series. The cellar master is committed to selecting exceptional and unique vintages, showcasing a perfect mastery over nature and an experience born of time and expertise. Rare Champagne is the « Jewel of Champagne », a unique signature, the light that emanates from an art of living, the radiance that comes from the passing-on of a know-how. Adorned with a tiara made by Arthus-Bertrand as the allegory of a triumphant vine, its bottle shines with the brilliant promise of an emotion-filled experience. Its structure is both fine and voluptuous. Rare Champagne is a line into a richly fruity generosity, a touch of elegance rounded by the sensuality of warm, tropical notes with hints of brioche. Experience to be taken up within 18 months from the auction.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the Donor of this Auction Lot indicated they will offer an additional Auction Lot to the underbidder. The auctioneers have determined that any underbidder within 10% of the Winning Bidder’s bid shall automatically purchase the additional Auction Lot. (Should you not wish to be included, ensure that your bid is more than 10% below the current Winning Bid price.) For underbidders who more than 10% below the Winning Bidder’s bid, the Auctioneer shall ask the Donor if they are willing to provide an additional lot at this price, and, if so, shall then ask the underbidder if they are willing to purchase the additional Auction Lot.
